This class is designed to prepare you for the nursing school experience. From
that first clinical day to taking that last final this class will arm you with
tools to foster success and a sense of humor too!
Prepares you with fundamental skills of nursing practice
combined with a clinical practicum in a long-term care facility and acute care
hospital. Skills related to comfort, hygiene, elimination, oxygenation,
nutrition, skin and wound care as well as nursing assessment skills are taught
and demonstrated with opportunities for students to practice in a facilitated
lab environment.
NRAD 2B Nurse Caring Practicum
Prepares you with more advanced skills of nursing practice combined with a clinical practicum in an acute care hospital. Practicum includes care of medical-surgical, obstetric and pediatric clients. Skills related to maintenance of intermittent IV infusion devices, patient controlled analgesia, secondary IV medication administration, subcutaneous and intramuscular injections, airway management and total parenteral nutrition administration are taught and demonstrated with opportunities for students to practice in a facilitated lab environment. Pathophysiology and nursing care related to the client with cancer and diabetes mellitus are included in this course.
